Most pet beds rely on synthetic foams, polyester fabrics, and materials designed for short-term comfort. We chose a different approach.
At The Woolly Hound, we create dog beds using three carefully selected natural materials: cotton, wool, and natural latex. Each material serves a purpose, working together to create a breathable, supportive, and comfortable place for your dog to rest. Every bed is thoughtfully designed with both your dog and your home in mind.
Our Materials
Wool
Our wool fill is naturally insulating, moisture-wicking, and incredibly breathable, helping keep pets warm in the winter and cool in the summer while resisting dust mites, mold, and allergens. Wool’s natural resilience allows it to retain shape and comfort over time without the need for synthetic fillers.
Our wool batting is sourced from a trusted California supplier that partners with local, family-run farms.
Cotton
We use 100% organic cotton for our bed covers and inserts because of its breathability, softness, and durability. Cotton allows for excellent airflow, helping regulate temperature and create a comfortable sleeping environment.
Our cotton batting is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton sourced from Texas and supplied through a trusted California partner.
Latex
Latex is the material that gives our beds their supportive core.... providing gentle, orthopedic support by contouring to your pet’s body while maintaining bounce and structure.
Our shredded natural latex is harvested from rubber trees in Sri Lanka and sourced from a trusted U.S. supplier.
Why We Combine Wool, Cotton, and Latex
Wool and cotton are incredible natural fibers, but on their own they can compress over time. We added natural latex to provide the resilient support needed for a bed that remains comfortable through years of daily use.
Latex helps the bed gently respond to your dog’s body while allowing wool and cotton to provide the breathable, cozy comfort dogs love.
Together, these materials create the balance we were looking for: natural comfort, supportive structure, and lasting durability.

Our beds are designed and manufactured locally in Indiana using carefully selected natural materials from trusted American suppliers. While some materials originate around the world, we believe transparency means being honest about what goes into our products and why we chose each material.
